If your event area is fairly bright and your subjects are not too far from the camera, a consumer grade camcorder will suffice. Although the better your camera, the better your broadcast quality. There are also other considerations that will affect your broadcast quality including lighting, your upload broadcast speed, etc. We recommend that you start with the most affordable camera per your budget and experiment with lighting, camera positions, etc.

Your internet upload speed is the primary factor with broadcasting (download speed is not a factor). You will need at least a DSL speed internet connection at the venue to broadcast a high quality stream. We recommend that you broadcast at 1000 kbps for a medium quality stream. At this rate, you would need a consistent upload speed from your venue of at least 2000 kbps. If you are broadcasting multiple streams at various bandwidths, your upload speed will need to accommodate the sum of the all streams.
During the 30 day free trial, everything is included for free. After the free trial, it's $199 per month and includes unlimited bandwidth.
It's a matter of "You get what you pay for". Here's a short list of ways you'll pay for streaming to a free service:
  • Free services WILL post unwanted ads on your live wedding service
  • Free services WILL block your live event when its algorithm detects copyrighted music. And they don't care if you already have a license for the music.
  • Free services WILL NOT allow you to embed your live stream on your venue website. Youtube will allow an embed, but the embed changes for every live stream event (this will drive your webmaster crazy!).
  • Free services WILL NOT allow you to customize your streaming platform to match your venue and your website.
  • Free services DO NOT provide any support. Ever.
  • Free services DO NOT provide detail analytics.
  • Free services CANNOT protect your event and your live stream service. There's no way to ban unwanted online visitors from disrupting your service and your guests online.
